Overcoming the hill in the name of Independence Day
On September 20 and 21, in Quantum College “Ughetsir” camp, located in Aghavnadzor, was again overcrowded. Elementary and middle school students, their parents and teachers were again at their favorite place to take part in the annual expedition to the northern forested slops of Teghenis. The ascent was difficult, but very interesting and instructive. Not less enthusiastic were the parents of the students, especially those, who were for the first time in this beautiful nature, could not stop expressing their admiration. It is also noteworthy that the school's youngest pupils overcame all difficulties without complaining. In this responsible work the IB students helped the form-masters and parents of the elementary school. After a nearly five-hour expedition (less for children), returning to camp, the hikers participated in different game-contests like "Run-Baton," "rope stretching”, which were also organized for parents, and also Independence day theme chalk painting and etc. The results were summarized at the end of the contest and winners were awarded prizes and certificates in different categories. In the evening, the hikers returned to Yerevan very impressed. The annual excursions, which started almost simultaneously with the formation of the school, give Quantum College students a unique opportunity to learn about their native nature, to overcome the difficulties together, thus consolidating classmates love of the homeland, native wildlife and friends. By the decision of Quantum College academic council, this year expedition campaign was dedicated to Armenia's independence 24th anniversary, thus to complete the symbol of the day, an essay contest dedicated to the Independence Day was announced.
