Koghb Foundation Supports Gifted Children Contest Winners
Today Quantum College had the pleasure of welcoming Arman Barseghyan, the Head of Koghb Foundation Council and Astghik Mehrabyan, Koghb Foundation Director. The occasion was more than inspiring: the awarding with Koghb Foundation scholarship of 4 winners of the Gifted Children Contest. The lucky students are Tigran Karakhanyan (8th grade), Aleksandr Karalyan (10th grade), Ashot Matevosyan (12th grade) and Armen Matevosyan (12th grade). Established in 2013 and actively operating since 2014, Koghb Foundation aims at supporting the development of education, culture and sports in Armenia. Before handing in the scholarships, Astghik Mehrabyan introduced the Foundation website: koghb.com. The website is a universal platform enabling individuals and organizations to give and receive online financial and other support for the implementation of educational and cultural projects. The website has been active for only a year (the new website demonstration was held at Quantum College one year ago), but the achievements reached through it are considerable. Dozens of young people were able to realize their dreams by means of the support they received through the Foundation website. Among these young people are the four winners from Quantum College, awarded with a one-year financial support.
We are proud to say that Arman Barseghyan, the Head of Koghb Foundation Coundil, is one of the first graduates of Quantum College (academic year 1991-1992) and the first gold medalist. As Arman mentioned during his speech, having felt financial difficulties himself years ago, he realizes the importance of even small investments in the education of young people.
At the end of the meeting the parents of the winning students thanked the Foundation and the College. Namely, Tigran Karakhanyan’s father expressed his gratitude to the College authorities, noting that two years ago, before leaving Vanadzor for Yerevan and before participating in the Gifted Children Contest, they couldn’t even imagine such course of events.
In the closing speech of the school authorities, Quantum College History teacher Araksya Simonyan expressed a hope that years later these 4 students and others like them will become initiators of similar projects.
Let us remind, that the annual Contest of Gifted Childrenis a unique opportunity for numerous schoolchildren both from and outside Yerevan, to receive high quality education at Quantum College on preferential terms, laying a solid basis for further achievements.
