The Prime Minister Gets Acquainted with the Educational Programs of Quantum College
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited Quantum College today in order to get acquainted with the learning conditions and educational programs. Principal Robert Vardanyan presented the organization of the learning process, educational programs and reconstruction work done in the new building of the college. He noted that the College offers primary (grades 1-4), middle (grades 5-9) and high school (grades 10-12) education. The middle school programs are based on the national curriculum while the education in high school is provided in differentiated programs in physical-mathematical, chemical-biological, economical, social sciences and international departments. The free-of-charge Olympic groups in different subjects are a good opportunity for students to further enlarge their knowledge in a particular subject. Quantum College is also the first school in Armenia to offer the world-renowned International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. While touring in the classrooms and laboratories Mr Abrahamyan had conversations with the teaching staff and students, got acquainted with the teaching methodology and students’ achievements. One of the students represented a device he had created for neutralizing enemy’s drones and noted he had developed the idea after the four-day war in April. It allows to stun the radio waves and the student thinks can be used in military industry. Mr Abrahamyan also met the 5 and 6 graders who were taking their end-of-the-year examinations and wished them good luck. The Prime Minister welcomed Quantum College as one of the leading educational institutions of Armenia and expressed government support to the further plans of the College. Quantum College is the first experimental private school in Armenia where the graduates receive Armenian state graduation certificate, and the IB Diploma Programme graduates receive an international diploma which allows them to enter world leading universities with graduation marks. This year the College celebrates the 25th anniversary of its foundation. The College has so far had numerous graduates many of which have participated and won prizes in national and international Olympiads.
