Quantum College is the first experimental private school, which was established in September, 1991 (License N 001). The graduates of the college get a state graduation certificate. Today there are about 500 students in 32 classes of the college. There are Middle (5-9) and High (10-12) schools in the college structure. The bases of the Middle school curricula are the secondary school state curricula. In the high school level the teaching process is organized with differentiated programmes for the following streams:

  • Physics-Mathematical
  • Chemistry-Biological
  • Humanitarian
  • Economics

The curricula are formed based on the secondary education demands and the higher educational Institution entrance exam programmes so that the students have a chance to get a complete secondary education as well as to get ready for the entrance exams.

During every semester the students have to take check up test and at the end of the semester they have exams.

There are free Olympiad groups for all subjects which enable the best students to make their knowledge deeper. For the students of grades 5-9, who have very low progress and need help, there are special free tutoring classes.

During the last several years the college gives 100-120 graduates annually. More than 95% of them enter higher educational institutions just the first year after graduation and as a rule, the main part with scholarships.

The college has about 70 teaching staff members, 30 out of which are candidates of sciences or doctors. Some of them also teach in YSU or in some other universities. The pedagogical work is organized within subject departments.

Since 1997-1998 the college has been the irreplaceable leader in the municipal and republic stages of the school subject Olympiads. The students of the college also have great success in the international Olympiads. Only in 2009, 7 out of the 9 medals brought to our republic, were won by Quantum college students.

In order to discover gifted children and later also to support them in the further education, Yerevan State University and Quantum college have held the competition in Mathematics for the 6th, 7th and 8th grade children since 1996. The children who won the competition are given a chance to study in Quantum College either with a scholarship or with some privileged conditions with special programmes and at the same time to be involved in the Olympiad groups later getting an opportunity to become one of the Quantum students who have reached the heights in the international Olympiads.

The college is not just an educational institution but also a scientific innovative, educational IT and leading experience implementing center.

The college has several educational projects with Russian, US, Canadian and Swedish schools, successfully cooperates with the international organizations (OCSI, UNSCO etc).

Quantum College has a social-psychological service and the specialists hold individual and group meetings, conduct sociological surveys and do psychological observations.

The college has a gym, reading hall, 3 IT and computer new classrooms, where the students can study different educational programmes on their own and also use the Internet.

For the great contribution to the educational and scientific fields and for the 15th anniversary Quantum college was awarded a gold medal by the Ministry of Education and Science of the RA.
