The Management of the College

The founder of Quantum College is Quantum Educational Scientific Cooperative, which was established in 1989. The management of the college is realized through several bodies. The first body is the Senior Management Team (SMT) the members of which are: the director of the school Robert Vardanyan, the coordinator Varduhi Grigoryan, the deputy head responsible for the educational branch Levon Asatryan, the deputy head responsible for the innovative works and research Masis Sargsyan, the deputy head responsible for the scientific branch Ishkhan Harutyunyan, the head of the social-psychological service Yelena Barteneva and the admission head Armine Hovhannisyan. All members of this body act according to the Quantum College charter, which regulates the actions of all bodies of the college and clearly states the rights and responsibilities of all members. The charter of the college is adopted and confirmed by the founders of the college.

The decisions of the senior management team are discussed by the next link of the college management, which is the Scientific Pedagogical Board (SPB) and only after it they get legitimacy and are executed. The members of the SPB are all 7 members of the SMT, the heads of all 11 departments, the president and the deputy president of the Students' Council. In some cases representatives of the Parents' Board also take part in the discussions of the SPB. The president of the SPB is Ishkhan Hareutyunyan, who is responsible for the scientific branch of the college. The Students' Council and the Parents' Board have their special place in the college management structure. In the college the educational process is organized with departments, which are led by the department heads. The above mentioned system allows to make all interested sides be involved in the management of the college, which in its turn makes it possible to realize mutually agreed and prolific cooperation of all links.

Robert Vardanyan

R. Vardanyan is a graduate of the faculty of Physics, Yerevan State University. From 1981 to 1983 R. Vardanyan studied in Leningrad, in the Physics and Engineering Institute after A. F. Ioffe, in the laboratory of academician Zh. I. Alfyorov and received his PhD there. Since 1984 R. Vardanyan has been a candidate of Physics and Mathematics Sciences. R. Vardanyan has over 50 scientific works and a certificate of an invention copyright. R. Vardanyan has studied the semiconductor switches of the solar energy and the semiconductor solid solutions. During the last several years R. Vardanyan has been greatly interested in IT application issues in class while teaching Mathematics, Physics and other subjects and is the author of 5 electronic educational materials. He leads the work of the working teams that create virtual laboratories. R. Vardanyan is one of the founders of Quantum College and has been the principal of the college since its foundation. R. Vardanyan takes an active part in the programmes of the Educational Reformation process of the Republic of Armenia. R. Vardanyan has been a member of the committee which worked on creating the "About Secondary Education" law of the RA (2005-2009). Since 2001 R. Vardanyan has been a member of the IT Development Board of the RA which acts under the control of the Vice–president. For the Significant achievements in the field of Education and on the occasion of the college 10th anniversary R. Vardanyan was awarded with a gold medal, the highest award of Yerevan State University in 2002. On September 12, 2006 R. Vardanyan received the title of an "Honoured Pedagogue" on the basis of the President's bill. For the success in the field of education R. Vardanyan has received a lot of certificates and awards.

Varduhi Grigoryan

Varduhi Grigoryan has been teaching at Quantum College since 2007. She took part and was the finalist of several international programmes (IREX – FLEX, UGRAD, TEA) and in the scopes of those programmes was in the USA for studying and for trainings. She is the author of 13 scientific articles, is the co-author of the "Electronic English for grades 7, 8, 9 for secondary schools" educational material. She has taken part in several professional development trainings in England, the Netherlands and the USA. She is also the coordinator of the IB Diplom Programme of Quantum College.

Levon Asatryan

L. Asatryan graduated from Yerevan State University, faculty of Biology. He is a candidate of Biology. L. Asatryan has more than 20 scientific works. He is a winner of the USSR Komsomol Prize. L. Asatryan has studied the process of protein synthesis of the living organisms as well as the physiology of the microorganisms. He has been the deputy head of studies at Quantum since 1995.

Masis Sargsyan

M. Sargsyan graduated from the faculty of Physics, Yerevan State University and for his PhD he studied in Leningrad, in the Physical and Engineering Institute after A. F. Ioffe. M. Sargsyan is a candidate of Physics and Mathematics. He has more than 15 scientific articles. Since 1996 he has been working in Quantum as a deputy head of the college in charge of science and research. M. Sargsyan is the author of a number of educational manuals on Informatics and Mathematics. He is the inventor of "Aragats" programme which is to apply IT in class. M. Sargsyan is an initiator and an active participant of the educational system reforms. He was the RA educational system developing board (2005-2005), as well as Informatics state assessment committee member.

Ishkhan Harutiunyan

I. Harutiunyan graduated from the faculty of Physics, Yerevan State University. I. Harutiunyan is a candidate of Physics and Mathematics, a Reader of Yerevan State University. I. Harutiunyan is the author of more than 50 scientific works and has copyright certificates of two inventions. I. Harutiunyan is involved in the scientific researches as well as in teaching. He is a laboratory head in "LT –Pirkal" LtD. I. Harutiunyan has taken part in a number of international scientific conferences and has been a speaker in some of them introducing different reports. He has been the head of the Scientific and Pedagogical Council of the college since its foundation.

L. Barteneva

She is responsible for both psychological and social relationships, atmosphere. The service is designated for work with students, teachers and also parents.

Armine Hovhannisyan

Armine Hovhannisyan graduated from the faculty of Mathematics of YSU, has 16 years of teaching experience, 7 of which in Quantum College. She is the assistant of the college educational branch head.
